Pregnant And Having A Lot Of Back Pain? 2 Options To Help You Feel Better

Blog

Being pregnant is a wonderful time, but it can also cause you to have pain. One area that is often painful is in the back, due to the extra weight being carried. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help alleviate your back pain, two of which are listed below.

See a Chiropractor

There are chiropractors that can help treat back pain for those that are pregnant. The chiropractor can do adjustments to your spine and back to help the pain go away. The chiropractor will also speak with you about how you sit and stand, as having good posture is important to help with back pain.

The chiropractor will align your lower back and pelvis to help prevent your pain. This is also beneficial for your body. If your pelvis and lower back are not aligned properly, this can cause your body to not have as much room in your womb. Being aligned can help with birth, as this will increase the chances of your baby getting in the correct position while you are delivering.

Because you will likely have back pain throughout your pregnancy, see a chiropractor on a regular basis to keep the pain away. The chiropractor can give you much more information in detail on how they can help you. Chiropractic therapy for pregnancy can provide a lot of benefits.

Get Physical Activity

Getting physical activity is another way to help with back pain during pregnancy. This is because this activity can help strengthen the muscles in your back. The type of exercise you should do is to be gentle because you are pregnant. Consider walking or water exercises. There should be gyms in your area that have pools, and there may be instructors that teach these exercises. If you do not feel safe walking outside, go to the mall and walk around. This also gives you even footing so you won't have to worry about tripping and falling.

See a physical therapist to learn about some more physical activities you can do. The therapist will teach you different stretches to help with your back muscles. Your doctor can give you the name of a physical therapist that you can see.

Before you start doing any type of physical activity, talk with your doctor to ensure what you do will not harm you or the baby in any way.

There are other things you can do to help with back pain, such as using heat and cold, sleeping on your side, and getting a massage.
